What an honour it was for some of the team at Cubic interactive to have the opportunity to attend the 10 x 10 London Auction. The main event was held at the end of November at RIBA’s headquarters and was attended by Team Cubic’s Charles and Daniel as well as over 300 other guests from London’s culture, architecture, design and property communities.

This year’s event featured over 100 artworks including pieces by, Antony Gormley, Jock McFadyen, James Hart Dyke, Tom Hunter, Antoni Malinowski, Kengo Kuma, David Adjaye, a rare sketch by Erich Mendelsohn and many other great works – let’s not forget the contributions we spotted by some of our very own clients such as Purcell and Assael Architecture.

Since 2011, leading architectural charity Article 25 have held an auction each year of artwork by architects, artists and designers capturing an aspect of London. The annual event sees a 10 x10 grid laid over an area of London with each participant allocated one of the 100 squares within it,with this year centred on Brixton. The architect or designer then donates an artwork inspired by the buildings and public space within their square.

A staggering £125,00 was raised this year which will allow Article 25 to continue its work in the world’s most vulnerable communities.  The charity undertakes construction projects in some of the world’s poorest countries, building much-needed facilities, working closely together with local communities to design and construct sustainable buildings like schools, health clinics, and training centres.
